Privacy Policy

Read our privacy policy to understand how we handle user-selected photos, app preferences, and subscription status.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies to the Scale for Grams mobile apps and website (together, the "Application") created by Glipo (the "Service Provider") as a utility service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".

Information Collection and Use

The Application processes photos you intentionally capture or select for analysis, basic preferences such as language and measurement units, and subscription, purchase, or scan-credit status needed to unlock features. If you create a web account, we process your email address, authentication records, project membership, and scan-usage ledger so your access can be recognized and synchronized.

Web visitors receive a pseudonymous, HTTP-only browser identifier used to enforce the guest scan allowance and prevent duplicate spending. The identifier is cryptographically hashed before it reaches the database. Successful scan records may contain the identified object, approximate result, confidence signal, AI provider, and time, but not the uploaded photo itself.

When you give a photo-analysis result a “dislike,” the related photo is sent to the Service Provider and processed to evaluate and improve result quality. The photo is included in this quality-improvement process only when you intentionally submit that feedback.

We may also process pseudonymous technical data such as app version, device or session identifiers, feature usage events, and error information so we can keep the app stable, understand demand for features, and investigate failures.

The Application does not gather precise information about the location of your mobile device.

On Android, the Application may display rewarded, banner, and app-open advertising through Google Mobile Ads and mediation partners, including AppLovin, Meta Audience Network, and Mintegral. These advertising services may automatically collect and share IP addresses (which may be used to estimate general location), device or account identifiers, ad and app interaction information (such as app launches, taps, and video views), and diagnostic information for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Advertising is not currently requested or displayed in the iOS app. Where required, ad requests are controlled by regional consent choices; Android users can revisit those choices from the in-app privacy options.

<!-- AI:START -->

The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies — including Qwen / DashScope or Google Gemini, depending on service configuration — to estimate object weight from photos you provide. AI output may be inaccurate and should not be treated as professional or certified measurement. Uploaded web photos are transmitted to the configured AI processor for the requested estimate and are not stored in the Scale for Grams product database. The Service Provider does not intentionally use your photos to train its own AI models.

<!-- AI:END -->

The Application does not sell your personal data. Aggregated or pseudonymous usage information may be used to improve result quality, tune app flows, detect abuse, and measure product performance.

Permissions and Third-Party Processing

Camera and photo library permissions are used only so you can capture a new image or choose an existing one for analysis. You can revoke these permissions at any time from your device settings, but some features will stop working if access is removed.

Analysis requests may be processed by secure third-party AI providers (Qwen / DashScope or Google Gemini). Web identity and shared product data are stored in our self-hosted PostgreSQL infrastructure; passwordless email delivery may use our configured mail provider. Premium access may be managed through Apple StoreKit, Google Play, Adapty, and Paddle; Paddle processes web payment and billing information as merchant of record. Analytics or diagnostics may be handled by providers acting on our behalf (Arislytic, Apple App Attest).

Please note that the Application utilizes third-party services that have their own Privacy Policy about handling data. Below are the links to the Privacy Policy of the third-party service providers used by the Application:

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.

Opt-Out Rights

You can stop mobile collection by uninstalling the app and stop web use by signing out and no longer visiting the service. You may request account and associated product data deletion at support@glipo.com.tr.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider keeps information only for as long as reasonably necessary to operate the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Preferences and some identifiers may remain on your device or platform account until you remove the app or clear the data. If you'd like the Service Provider to delete User Provided Data, please contact them at support@glipo.com.tr and they will respond in a reasonable time.

Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (support@glipo.com.tr) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information in transit and at rest. No internet service can be guaranteed to be perfectly secure.

Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
